Pursue our research in the mid - 1970s CB craze we will look at what were considered the elites antennas when he came to have a CB configuration. Truckers can have held roads and 19 channels, it was everyday enthusiasts who ruled waves of his house and rule, which they did.
If you were on CB and really wanted to impress people with your voice booming over the airwaves you have no choice but to set a base unit. Not only were the units themselves but powerful antennas that people put up on their roof ToPS might have given some rival television stations a run for their money.
It was not easy to choose a CB antenna for your base station. There was a lot to choose and they had their cure-all and defects.
One of the most powerful, yet more frustrating was the most popular Raker Moon. Just a beam antenna that looked very similar to having more than 3 elements mounted on a base counter 11 TV antennas. These were called regular Rakers moon. However, there was beam antennas which had up to six items on them. They were referred to as a moon Raker 6. These things were enormous. The problem with them was that they were directional antennas. This means that depending on the direction of your antenna was pointing that was where you have your best reception and transmission. So if you were talking to someone who was South of you and your antenna was pointing to the North you need to turn 180 degrees antenna to get a decent home. This got to be a pain after a long time. Interesting side was that these antennas were so powerful that they could cut across otherwise whatsoever, once you've had your updated target zero.
Another popular base antenna was what it was called the "Big Stick". That was just a very long antenna fiberglass. They were usually about 10 to 15 feet long. They were not as powerful as the Raker Moon, but they transmitted and received all equally well from all directions and therefore were all great goal antenna base, especially if you were in a center where you've had a number of people, you might talk about in all directions. Also, big sticks were relatively cheap next to a moon Raker who sold for hundreds of dollars. A Big Stick was approximately $ 70.
For people who have a budget very large, there was base station antennas facts which were not much larger than their mobile counterparts honestly. When you consider the lack of power of these offices into account against the price of about $ 50, it makes much more sense to go with a Big Stick.
The biggest problem with all these antennas, especially in the old days was that they have been constantly interfering with TV reception. Today with cable, things are not quite as bad.
Even if the CB is not as popular with owners, as some 30 years ago, you always see these bad boys on the roof tops if you look pretty close. Simply make sure that you stop the car first before at one-eye.

Antenna - CB mobile antennas
If you were around in the mid-1970s in the United States, you have been living under a rock not to know the citizen band radio big craze made popular by the smash hit "Xiangxue" by C.W. McCall. If you were in citizen band radio everything you knew that there was a certain prestige have certain types of antennas, especially if you had a CB setup in your home.
For mobile devices, those that have been installed in your motor vehicle antennas were rather simple and relatively low. They could only send and receive a short distance depending on the time of day. In the afternoon, the mobile CB antennas were lucky go a few miles, especially during times of sun spot. At night, if you were lucky you can reach approximately 10 to 20 miles, perhaps sometimes a little more.
Mobile antennas arrived in several types. One of the most popular antennas was hooked on the rear bumper fiberglass model. These antennas have been very good sending and receiving. Most were approximately 3/8 inch in diameter and approximately 2 feet high. Some might handle up to 1000 watts of power transmission.
Another popular type of mobile antenna was magnetic roof top antenna. It was not very powerful, but they were really easy to hook up. Only show the cable in your CB, which was installed typically under the dashboard in your car, then simply take the antenna, it stick to your window and it appears at the top of your roof. The magnet has been sufficiently strong that there would be a hurricane for this thing to blow. These antennas could treat approximately 300 watts of power which them have an antenna quite low for the use of CB, but they were also very good markets.
Then we have the Centre load mirror mount antennas. The most popular of these were the Cobras. Don't let not those things fool you. They may manage up to 3000 watts of power, usually made of 24 k gold-plated 8-gauge copper coil. These antennas were also very costly and today go as much as $ 60 or more.
Of course, common mobile antennas were mounting trunk CB antennas. These were very good antenna mainly due to the location of the centre on the vehicle forward just before trunk DOS window. These antennas were not very costly but generally were able to manage approximately 500 watts and due to their good land, have been very good for sending and receiving, even with a mobile unit that was not that powerful. Antenna for good trunk costs more than $ 35 you.
There were some other strange marks antennas but essentially, they were most common. They were relatively easy to plug in. In some cases, some drilling was requested through parts of the vehicle to run wires antenna, but most of the time, someone could put one of these things together.
Then, we take a look of eye the most popular and powerful base antennas.
