Phone Windows 7 or Android?

The major battle over the Phone OS has just started. The Android vs Windows Phone 7. Lets find out who gets the upper hand!

Home Screen
On the home screen of the android you can find clusters of Icons and text fields. This isn't pretty to look at the first glance. Only a tech savy guy could figure out how to go around the icons to make use of the phone. But a normal layman would spend hours to just figure out how to make one simple call. On the whole the screen looks messy with lots of icons. One benefit is that the user has multiple pages on the home screen where one can have lots of icons outside its main menu so that they can have a very quick access.

Where as on the Windows Phone 7 the home screen is just beautiful as it can get. Windows phone 7 sports the "live tiles" which has very obvious icons that even a 5 year old kid can make a call within 2 minutes. The screen comes out alive with its active information or pictures popping out every few seconds. But you make think that it goes hard on the battery, but to your surprise it doesn't. The tiles are neatly stacked on the home screen and the navigation is a breeze.
Winner - Windows Phone 7

Applications
Android phones come out very good in this round as it has atleast 20,000+ applications ready to be downloaded from the market place. Windows Phone 7 was released a year too late! Not much applications to impress the users with.
Winner - Android phones

User Friendliness

Android phones aren't much of user friendly for a non-tech user. But for an expert, the android phone is more than just friendly.
Here Microsoft is well known for its user friendliness but for a power user, it jus makes more time to go around the menu searching for an application.
Both end up in a Tie- Breaker in this round because it really depends on the type of user.

Personalisation
Android stands out in this round as the user can just personalise any thing. Theme support, Custom ringtones, Customizable GUI and so on.Windows Phone 7 is locked in with a standard GUI, Limited Ringtones and no home screen wallpapers.
Winner - Android phone

Keyboard
The android phone supports the swipe feature. Any user has some good knowledge about how to use the feature can just finish texting in jus seconds. The Keyboard layout is also intelligently designed and made as user friendly as possible.Windows Phone 7 has also done an excellent job in designing the keyboard. It is pretty good for a stock keyboard. The keyboard just works flawlessly and the main draw back is that it doesn't give you customization.
Again a tie breaker

In the end it all goes down to the user preference. Lets see how Windows phone 7 does in the coming months.
