iPad start in the Philippines: Win or error?

Therefore the Philippines Apple online store finally added the iPad WebStore (although the link still goes to a page blank) in preparation for the official launch in the Philippines.

Other stores have been selling them too, as the iCampus at Ateneo (at much cheaper prices too).

However, the local launch seemed a little too late, taking into account the initial version was way back in April. Already is close to 9 months of age.

We know that Steve will introduce a new iPad this summer (found in 3 months), and (hopefully) will have all updates of people wanted on Tablet (what FaceTime HD anyone?). Also probably have higher capacity storage too.

Buy a new iPad today do not seem to be a reasonable measure.

Its brand-new iPad becomes obsolete in 3 or 4 months due to the introduction of a more recent model. You will be losing the new features and resale value of your first generation iPad upgrades. The fall once announced the new iPads.

On the other hand, there are some advantages too favors. For one, you can get local warranty and support officers Apple reseller.

Regarding prices, suggested selling price of iPads grey market have actually stabilized to the point that are within 5-10%, which is not bad (therefore the waiting is not really worth it). I remember that obtain an iPad 64 GB 3 g + WiFi for about 500 Php38 last month from a source in Greenhills. That's really cheaper than the official price.

So here is my question: you think the launch of uber-delayed iPad in the Philippines is a victory or a mistake? Leave your answers in the comments section below. I am very close call it an error, but for now, I will give you a tie.
